We continuously raise the bar on superior performance to ensure customer satisfaction. In 1998, Bekins made a commitment to pursue outside verification that the Bekins' quality system is healthy, strong and sound. To that end, Bekins' sought registration, and was awarded certification, to the ANSI/ISO/ASQC Q-90002-1994 Standard for the Sioux City site.
Bekins is now engaged in activities to secure certification to the ISO 9001 2000 Standards. The additional requirements in the new standard reinforce the goal of continuous improvement.
While we anticipate ever-changing roles in responding to customers needs, the commitment to quality management systems will remain firm. This will promote adequate training, resources and management support for our operations. It will include thorough inspection, identification and traceability of customer product. It will support the segregation of nonconforming product in customer inventory, safe handling and delivery of practices, and clear communication on customer contracts. Through accurate reporting and data collection ISO guiding principles will ensure that all our decisions are made on solid facts.
This ISO process promotes a stronger Bekins. We embrace the high standards of ISO as guidelines for our daily normal operating procedure. For our prospective new customers, ISO provides an assurance that the processes we use are consistent and based on a healthy management system.
