Supply Chain Visibility Strategy

Our customers can now save more time and still have up-to-date inventory status with Bekins new Supply Chain Visibility web site options. Bekins is now developing a new strategy to "Push" versus having the customer "Pull" their inventory status information. The customer will have the ability to set specific alerts to notify them via e-Mail of specific changes to inventory. This will eliminate the need for our customers to spend valuable time each day monitoring the Bekins Web Site for any changes that may have occurred. This new Supply Chain option will be available to our new Distribution Center Management System customers by secound quarter 2003.

The alerts include:

  • Customer Order – When a customer order is generated.

  • Purchase Order – When a purchase or inbound order is generated.

  • All Receipts – When an inbound receipt has been reconciled or over/short and received.

  • Over/Short Receipt(s) Only – When an inbound receipt has been received but the receipt is over or under the specified ASN or receiving quantity.

  • All Shipments – When an outbound customer has been reconciled or over/short and shipped.

  • Over/Short Shipment(s) Only – When an outbound customer order has been shipped but the order is over or under the specified customer order.

  • ASN Received – When an electronic ASN is received by our warehouse and saved within our DCMS.

  • ASN Shipped – When a shipment has been fulfilled and an electronic ASN will be sent.

  • Delivery Late – When ASN has been electronically sent and the inbound receipt is past the due date.

  • Adjustments– When any adjustment is made to a particular quantity

  • Reclass – When a part is re-classed from one class to another. A class is an inventory state (i.e. On-Hold, Damage, In-QA, Unavailable, or Available).

  • Receipt for Specific SKU – When a specific SKU or Hot SKU is received within the warehouse.

  • Shipment for Specific SKU - When a specific SKU or Hot SKU is shipped from the warehouse to the customer.

  • Invoice – When an invoice has been generated and the invoice is sent as an attachment to the customer.

Even though these new alerts will be available, this does not mean the value of the current Bekins Web Site will diminish. Instead of our customer using the site for monitoring purposes, the intent of the Bekins Web Site will be to assist our customers with historical, reporting, download, and trouble-shooting purposes.
